What Is Gutter Guard?
Gutter guard is a mesh or screen installed over your gutters to prevent leaves, twigs, possum droppings, bird nesting material and other debris from entering and blocking your gutters. Water still flows freely through the mesh, but solid material is kept out.
Why Install Gutter Guard in Sydney?
Sydney has specific conditions that make gutter guard a smart investment:
- Gum trees — Sydney is full of eucalypts that drop leaves, bark and oil-rich debris year-round, not just in autumn
- Storm season — Summer storms dump large amounts of debris into gutters in one event
- Bushfire risk — Ember guards prevent burning debris from accumulating in gutters during fire events
- Possums and birds — Gutter guard stops animals nesting in your gutters and downpipes
Types of Gutter Guard We Install
Aluminium Mesh Guard
The most popular choice for Sydney homes. Aluminium mesh allows water through while blocking leaves and debris. Rust-proof, long-lasting, and suitable for all roof types.
Steel Mesh Guard
Heavier gauge for commercial properties or high-debris environments. More durable than aluminium and better for very large leaf volumes.
Foam/Brush Insert Guards
Cheaper to install but less effective and require regular replacement. We generally do not recommend these for Sydney conditions — debris builds up on top and inside the foam.
Gutter Guard Installation Pricing
Gutter guard pricing depends on the product type, total linear metres of guttering, roof pitch and access. Because every property's gutter run is different, we provide a fixed price after a quick site inspection (in person or via photos) rather than a generic per-metre rate — this means the number you're quoted is the number you pay, with no surprises on the day.

Does Gutter Guard Eliminate Cleaning Entirely?
Not entirely — but it dramatically reduces frequency. Most Sydney homes with gutter guard go from twice-yearly cleans to once every 3–5 years for a maintenance check. Fine particles and silt can still build up over time on top of the mesh.
